Super Hero Owls for todays sewing!

I love these little owls! I couldn't decide what I was going to do with them. For now I have made Tristan a tee for back to school. But I am seriously thinking this would make great fabric for pajamas!
And I can't tell you how much he loves this little pocket!! He is becoming very excited about starting Kindergarten! At least one of us is.

You can find this print along with a few more at Making Madie! I have another few prints of hers that I can not wait to sew up!! Now to find the time!

Another Pocket Tee... Scooters!!

I adore this little euro knit! I have a special place in my heart for scooters. My dad bought my brother and I a pair when we were younger. We rode them all through the woods at my grandparents home during the summer. Lots of fun times!!

Tristan's bedding was the Mona Luna scooter fabric. I adored it! Sad day when I took the bumper pads off and made it into a toddler bed.

Paired the scooter fabric with a stripe and star print. I love mixing it up! Hoping my little guy will love this one just as much as I do!

close up of the pocket and the back. I don't normally put the print on the back too, but I love it!

I made some pocket hoodies last week. Tristan was kind enough to model one for me after bath time the other night. I love this style! Sadly Tristan doesn't care for Ewoks much, but I thought it was pretty cute!

This hoodie has the kangaroo pocket at the bottom. It was a lot of fun to design. I used 3 panels, 2 on the hoodie and 1 for the pocket peekers! Love characters peeking out of the pockets. This fabric was really nice to work with. Great weight. You can find it over at the Fabric Geeks! They still have panels and fabrics in stock!

My favorite thing to sew! Sewing scrappy for my baby boy! I love fabric! Seriously, I love the smell. I love when it comes out of the dryer, smelling freshly laundered. I love folding it. I love walking by my shelves and just staring at it. I pretty much love everything about it!

I have been eyeballing this new tee that everyone is sewing up. I am not big on patterns at all, so I just took my favorite Ottobre raglan tee pattern and went for it. I think they came out pretty good. I can not wait for my baby boy to wear them to Kindergarten!!

I have saved some of this European rocket knit off to the side, just for Tristan. I love the colors! I actually had the coordinating knit, BUT I decided the teal stars from The Knotty Babe matched my fabric just as well and gave it some more punch!

Love the stitching on the pockets. I don't know how I ever sewed knits without a coverstitcher. Seriously, if you don't have one and you sew knits all the time, invest in one. I use the Coverpro 1000 made by Janome. It took a while to get used to it, but most of my machines have. Super user friendly once you get the hang of it!

I love robots too! This fun European knit fabric has a lot of robots that look like the old tin kind from the 50's. It's a really nice thick fabric, so vibrant!

Oh and because there were 2 prints, I couldn't resist putting robots on the back too. Can't decide if I like the front or the back better.

Back to my real world business sewing tomorrow. I will try and blog some more this week. I can't wait to sew up some more tee shirts for Tristan. Maybe I will sew up some matching shorts too!

Kindergarten Sewing for my Baby Boy!!

Tristan is starting Kindergarten Soon!

Yes, my baby turns "5" in just a month! And with that comes Kindergarten a week later. My last baby is starting school. I can't believe it!

Looking back, it has been 3 years since I have blogged. That seems unreal to me. I guess facebook takes up most of my nights after sewing is finished and the kids are in bed. I am trying to remember to Instagram things too, but I have a hard time with that one.

I started this blog because I wanted to share with others the great adventure of sewing for a little boy. So much fun! Therapeutic even. I haven't sewn a whole lot for my little man in the last year or two. Except for Underwear! He pretty much lives in those around the house. Too busy with my sewing business. However, I have vowed to make most of his school wardrobe for Kindergarten. I will try and remember to come over here and post.

I asked Tristan last night, what kind of tee shirt do you want me to sew you tomorrow. "A Super Hero" he said. So I am happy to oblige.

Since I have stopped blogging this great new world of custom knits has come around!! Oh, the days and nights of searching ebay for some great knit is over! I am in so many custom groups over on facebook. I try not to really know how many! I am afraid they shake all the leaves off of my paypal money tree each week.

One of my absolute go to places for new fabrics, Pink Zeppelin!  The owner is super sweet and her fabrics are beautiful! The quality is amazing! Rivals any European knit out there. I used to prefer sewing with euro knits, not anymore. Most of the time, the custom fabrics are heavier and the inks are so vibrant.  These washed up beautifully! And panels! oh the panels. I love them all!

I'm not too much of a pattern girl. I take your basic raglan pattern from Ottobre magazine and I just make it do what I am looking for at the moment. I call this one a simple pocket tee. It features characters peeking out of the rounded pockets. Tristan loves his pockets and this made a big one.

Tristan let me take a few pictures today, but he really doesn't hold still. Not the easiest person to take pictures of lately. If you would like to sew up something for your little boy, you can find the fabric here.

So that is 1 shirt added to our back to school wardrobe! Now to sew a bunch more!
